Between 2019 and 2024 I ran a marketing agency with one hundred and seven active clients and exactly one employee — me. People thought it was a stunt. It wasn't. It was a system.
Every workflow that could be removed, I removed. Every email that could be drafted by template, was. Every chore that could be batched, was. By the end I was spending maybe twelve hours a week on the agency and the rest on whatever I wanted. It worked because I had built, accidentally, a kind of operating system around the business.
The moment
In March 2024 a friend asked me to help him do the same with his roofing company. We sat down for an afternoon and mapped his operation. Every email. Every quote. Every chase. Every invoice. Every chore his wife had inherited because nobody else would do it. By the end of the day we had an architecture diagram on a napkin. The diagram looked exactly like the one I had built for myself, just with different leaves on the tree.
Two more friends asked the same week. The third one said: 'wait, can't you just build this as a thing?' That was the moment.
What we set out to build
Not a tool. A toolbox. The architecture I had for my agency was custom to my agency — the modules were the same as everyone else's, but the way they fit together was mine. So we set out to build the toolbox, the way of fitting it together for any business, and the team that does the fitting.
That's still what we're building. The team is six now. The first hundred customers are signing. The OS gets sharper every week.
We aren't selling tools. We're selling the shape the tools should take, built around your business, run by us.
If you're reading this and your business feels like a hundred chores held together with sticky notes, we should talk. That's what we're built for.
